Bonsai trees can grow for thousands of years. If well kept, they can grow very old. How long does a bonsai tree live for? Some of the oldest Bonsai in the world are over 800 years; the result of many generations of patience and hard work.

In general, they symbolize harmony, peace, order of thoughts, balance and all that is good in nature.

The word “Bon-sai” (often misspelled as bonzai or banzai) is a Japanese term which, literally translated, means “planted in a container”

Simply Yumful: Steak (or chicken) & Broccoli

Ingredients

For the broccoli rice

  • 4 cups broccoli florets about 2 small crowns
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 1 green onion thinly sliced white and green parts separated

For the Sauce

  • ¼ cup hoisin sauce
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seed oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger minced

For the beef

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound flank steak thinly sliced across the grain
  • Salt and pepper to taste

The coconut tree is a member of the palm tree family and the only known living species of the genus Cocos. The term “coconut” can refer to the whole coconut palm, the seed, or the fruit, which botanically is a drupe, not a nut.

The popularity of coconut doesn’t end with coconut water. A variety of coconut-derived ingredients—from coconut oil to coconut flour and coconut milk—are increasingly being used in home kitchens, restaurants and packaged foods. But can a food so rich in calories and laden with saturated fat be healthy? … well like pretty much everything in life, in moderation 😉 Food for wellth!
